I’m an instrucional coach at schools all around Chicago Public Schools. You’d be constantly humbled by all about the fantastic teachers and students who are taking ownership of their learning. Today when I was observing this classroom where the teacher picks a student to teach the first half of class everyday. This 5th grade student who just immigrated here with her family led the discussion and engaged students around a complex text as well as any teacher I’ve ever seen.
