You’d learn that running the bakery and kitchen at Whole Foods is not just dealing with customers, but keeping up team member morale. As a manager you have to work side by side with your team, always preparing them for success. That means giving proper training, like how to read recipes, but also offering support in daily shifts. There was a situation at work and I decided to stay extra to help out. I ended up missing my sister’s and cousin’s birthday party. I still think I made the right decision because I was able to support my team and lead by example.
